Grand Gedeh County Senator Alphonso Gaye has expressed fear on the over crowdedness of Senators from the ‘Old Order,’ in the President Pro Tempore’s race, arguing that there is a need for them to be united under a single candidate.Sen. Gaye urged veteran Senators to have combined front in order to champion the unique idea, of winning the coveted seat ahead of the freshman Senators. The Grand Gedeh lawmaker said the troop of Senators in the race for the 2nd top position at the Liberian Senate has the propensity of defeating the cause and objective of protecting the morale of the Upper Chamber, but rather give ‘Freshman Senators’ the urge to amalgamated against themselves.Senator Gaye made the remarks yesterday in an exclusive interview with the Daily Observer, during which he formally declined his interest for the Pro Tempore post.He joined Bong County Senator Chief Jewel Howard-Taylor, who had earlier declined because of similar reasons.Senator Gaye, who is also the Chairman of the Grand Gedeh Legislative Caucus, further argued that they have to prove to be politically mature and wise in the handling the race for a cause. The Senator’s observation is stemmed from expressions of interest from four Senators from the Old Oder, which include Senators Joseph Nagbe (Sinoe County), Armah Z. Jallah (Gbapolu), Oscar Cooper (Margibi) and Dan Morias (Maryland County).Reliable reports gather say, Grand Kru Senator, Dr. Peter Coleman has also expressed his interest for the President Pro Tempore position. The Grand Gedeh Senator has dispelled reports of not being a member of the Senate Majority Bloc, saying that all members of the ‘Old Order’ are automatically members of the Bloc which is aimed to elect one of their ‘kinds’ at the Pro Tempore seat.Sen. Gaye, is the Chairman on the Committee of Public Corporations; Co-chairman on Autonomous Commission and Agencies and Co-chairman on the Statutory Committee on Ways, Means, Finance and Budget, after successfully serving as Chairman on the Sub-committee on Revenue and Finance.Prior to going to the Upper House of the National Legislature, Sen. Ozil has been linked with a move to Barcelona while Sanchez almost joined Manchester City on the final day of the summer transfer window, only for Arsenal to pull the plug when they failed to land Monaco’s Thomas Lemar as his replacement.Wenger says he has no concerns over the commitment of the pair, with Sanchez scoring a last-gasp penalty as the Gunners won 1-0 at Burnley on Sunday to move into the Premier League top four.Arsenal host Huddersfield on Wednesday, with Ozil likely to be missing because of the illness that ruled him out at Turf Moor but Wenger believes the influential pair will not be sold in January — even though they could then walk away from the club for free six months later.“Yes, I rule it out,” Wenger said at his pre-match press conference when asked about potential departures.“I do not think about that every day. At the moment, as long as they are here, they have to give their best for the team and for the club.“In my head, they stay until the end of the season and that’s a decision that was taken at the start of the season. Unless something unbelievable happens, I can’t see why that would change.”– No assurances –However, Wenger could not offer Arsenal supporters assurances that either player would be tempted to sign new deals and extend their stays beyond 2018.“They’re into the final year of their contract,” he said. “Will they stay longer? That’s impossible to answer today because I don’t know. They have a contract until the end of the season.“I am not the only one who can decide that. They have a part to play in that as well. If it’s my decision, yes (they would stay longer).”Another player whose contract expires at the end of the season is England midfielder Jack Wilshere, who has been restricted to just three substitute appearances in the Premier League.“He’s a football man and I will always decide what is best for him. That is my first priority no matter what kind of decision I make,” Wenger said. “I have to consider the interests of Jack Wilshere and Arsenal Football Club together.”0Shares0000(Visited 1 times, 1 visits today) 0Shares0000Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil (left) and Alexis Sanchez both have 18 months left on their present dealsLONDON, United Kingdom, Nov 28 – Arsene Wenger has ruled out January departures for Arsenal pair Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil unless “something unbelievable” happens even as the clock ticks down on their contracts. The players are out of contract at the end of the season as both have so far refused to sign new deals at the Emirates.
City travel to Wolves and Liverpool host Brighton on Saturday, while Chelsea travel to Newcastle on Sunday.Spurs are also yet to drop points after defying off the field distractions to see off Newcastle and Fulham.Mauricio Pochettino’s response to not signing a single player in the transfer window and delays over the club’s move to a new stadium have been a lesson in diplomacy for Mourinho.Rather than voice his frustration, Pochettino has consistently called for unity between the board, squad and fans and has been rewarded in the early weeks of the campaign.United, by contrast, look anything but living up to their name with divisions emerging between executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, key players like Paul Pogba and Mourinho.Woodward’s failure to answer Mourinho’s pleas for a new central defender was punished as Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof were exposed in defeat at Brighton. But both players were brought in at a combined cost of £60 million ($76 million) since Mourinho was appointed and the Portuguese coach has equally failed to harness their potential or get the best out of an expensively assembled squad.Woodward may now be regretting hiring Mourinho rather than going after Pochettino, who has led Spurs into the top four for each of the past three seasons on a fraction of the resources. The Londoners have lost 1-0 on each of their last three league visits to Old Trafford, though, and are also seeking revenge for defeat in last season’s FA Cup semi-finals.Reversing that run would be a strong statement of intent that they and not United will rival City, Liverpool and Chelsea for the title.– Emery’s era ‘needs’ liftoff –Unai Emery was handed a difficult start as Arsenal manager © AFP / Glyn KIRKA summer of change at Arsenal and West Ham has so far yielded no points for either, making Saturday’s London derby vital for Unai Emery and Manuel Pellegrini to kickstart their new regimes. One of West Ham’s nine new recruits at a cost of nearly £100 million will be in familiar surroundings as Jack Wilshere returns to the Emirates after a 17-year spell with Arsenal ended in July.Emery was handed an unforgiving start with the visit of Manchester City and a trip to Chelsea to begin his reign as Arsene Wenger’s successor. But the Spaniard is fully aware of the importance of getting a win to keep the fans onside.“We need to win this match,” said Emery. “I think it’s very important to show them (the fans) a better performance than in the two first matches.”– Summertime six pointer –Huddersfield sit bottom of the Premier League © AFP / Oli SCARFFIt may still be August, but Cardiff’s visit to Huddersfield already looks crucial for both side’s chances of staying up.Unlike free-spending Fulham and Wolves, Cardiff didn’t splash much of their new found TV riches in the transfer market and are heavy favourites to go straight back down.Huddersfield are rock bottom having shipped nine goals in two games to City and Chelsea.– Golden Boot surprise runners –Richarlison has lofty ambitions for his first season at Everton © AFP / Lindsey PARNABYEverton’s trip to Bournemouth pits two of the in-form strikers of the season’s opening fortnight against one another in Richarlison and Callum Wilson.Richarlison leads the early Golden Boot race along with Sadio Mane and Sergio Aguero after scoring three goals in his first two Everton games, and his lofty ambitions for the season ahead.“I want to be the top scorer of the league, take Everton back to the Champions League and reach the Brazilian national team,” he told Brazilian media this week.Wilson has scored in each of Bournemouth’s wins over Cardiff and West Ham and could be rewarded with a call-up to the England squad next week.Fixtures (1400GMT unless stated)SaturdayWolves v Manchester City (1130), Southampton v Leicester, Arsenal v West Ham, Bournemouth v Everton, Huddersfield v Cardiff, Liverpool v Brighton (1630)SundayWatford v Crystal Palace (1230), Newcastle v Chelsea, Fulham v Burnley (1500)MondayManchester United v Tottenham (1900)0Shares0000(Visited 2 times, 1 visits today) 0Shares0000Mauricio Pochettino has kept Spurs unified as divisions have emerged at Manchester United between Jose Mourinho, his players and the club’s board © AFP / Ben STANSALLLONDON, United Kingdom, Aug 24 – A difficult start to the season for Manchester United promises to get even worse unless Jose Mourinho can turn a tide of negative publicity and inspire a reaction from his side against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.United already trail title favourites Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea by three points after a dreadful display in losing 3-2 to Brighton last weekend and that gap could have doubled by kick-off at Old Trafford (1900GMT) with all three expected to win again this weekend.

Photo by geocacher Brasstax. This week’s Geocache of the Week was born from the depths a fiery train crash. You might be thinking, “Jeez, that’s kind of a bummer. I hope no one was hurt in the wreck.” Until, of course, you learn that the train wreck was all a piece of Hollywood cinema. If you’re up for a hike and a challenging find, Ring of Fire (GCJYHZ) will show you a piece of movie history. In 1961, the film “Ring of Fire” was released. This film is a classic, campy story of boy meets girl, all while a giant forest fire rages through the Pacific Northwest. You can even watch the original trailer. Movie spoiler alert: The grand finale of the film occurs when a train is stuck on a flaming bridge. Eventually, the bridge weakens and collapses, sending the train cars tumbling into a ravine. While the movie is set in Oregon, the actual filming location for this stunt was in Washington. After filming, the crew did their best to remove the wreckage, but several pieces still remained. Several years later, geocacher ironman114 found the location and placed this geocache there.Check out the epic grand finale (skip to the 13 minute mark):A piece of wreckage from “Ring of Fire”. Geocacher crouchcrew had this to say in their log, “What an awesome, amazing cache for an awe-inspiring, epic milestone! He did good by picking this one. From the ropes, the climb, the railcars, the view, the history, the celebration, the beautiful day and finding the cache en masse made for a geocaching top 10 day! Thanks so much for placing and maintaining this consummate cache!”As a fan of old movies, the CO, ironman114, knew this spot would make a great geocache. Regarding the positive logs and favorite points, he says, “I derive a lot of satisfaction to see all the cachers enjoying the trek and hunt for this cache… If you get a lot of positive logs then you know you did it right.” He goes on with a message for other geocachers who plan to hide a geocache, “Location, Location, Location. Take time to think about it and if location is bland then make a good container or story to go with the geocache. Just because you can hide a geocache within feet of a full smelly pit toilet doesn’t mean you HAVE to!”Have you ever come across old wrecks, abandoned buildings or other once-inhabited places while geocaching? City leaders in Vancouver have vowed to make their city the greenest in the world by 2020, and now they’re backing that up with some serious money for sustainable development. The largest city in British Columbia, Canada, has issued its first green bond, a C$85 million package that will pay for a variety of housing and renewable energy projects, according to a statement issued by the city. “Green bonds offer an environmental and social investment tool that will support the City’s efforts to build sustainable infrastructure for many generations to come,” Mayor Gregor Robertson said in a press release.RELATED ARTICLESCreating an Urban Oasis: A Green Live-Work Space Blooms on a Gritty City LotAiming for Net Zero Energy in Fog CityDesigning Greener City StreetsDeveloper Plans a ‘Sustainable City’ Near BostonStriving for Zero in New York City Proceeds from the sale of the bonds — paying 3.1% and maturing in 2028 — will fund capital projects that are focused on renewable energy, energy efficiency, clean transportation, pollution prevention and control, and wastewater management. The projects will be approved by the City Council. Three projects that have already been approved include the renovation of a fire station to make it a net-zero building, the construction of more than 200 affordable housing units in the Downtown Eastside area, and the continued operation of a neighborhood utility that offers 100% renewable energy. The backdrop for the sale is a strategy statement that sets two important goals to reach by 2050: sourcing electricity from only renewable energy sources, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80% below 2007 levels. “The consequences of inaction to reduce fossil fuel use, such as climate change, poor air quality and detrimental health impacts, can be avoided through the adoption of renewable energy,” the statement says. Vancouver has a population of about 630,000 and prides itself on its livability, economic diversity, and technical and digital know-how.
Essential Reading! Get my 3rd book: Eat Their Lunch “The first ever playbook for B2B salespeople on how to win clients and customers who are already being serviced by your competition.” Buy Now We use the word “dissatisfaction” to describe the gap between the status quo and some better future state. It might mean that your dream client is unhappy with something now. They might have some pain that they can point to. It might also mean they have aspirations. They might have a vision of where they want to go in the future. We call it dissatisfaction, but it’s really just a way to confirm that there is some gap between the present state and some better future state. If there is no gap, there is no reason to change. Sometimes your dream clients recognize the gap themselves. They can tell you exactly what’s wrong and what is required to make it better. You love it when you walk and your dream client has a list of problems, challenges, and issues that you can help resolve, don’t you? It means there is a reason to change. It means you can be compelling. But sometimes you find your dream client and they aren’t unhappy with the way things are going now. In fact, things are working out rather well in their opinion. Focusing on pain doesn’t work. But that doesn’t mean that your dream client shouldn’t be dissatisfied. You may need to work to show them that even though they’re not dissatisfied, that they may be capable of producing even better results. This provides a reason to change. It might also be compelling. Some of your dream client contacts may be change agents. They may operate from the idea that, “If it ain’t broken, break it!” They believe that there is always improvements to be made and that you can’t allow the status quo to take hold, lest you become complacent. They always see a brighter future. They are always moving away from the status quo and towards “better.” They have aspirations. They frame them in the positive. Some of the opportunities in your pipeline aren’t going to become deals. They have no dissatisfaction. Your dream clients don’t recognize a gap themselves. You haven’t done anything to show them that they have good cause to be dissatisfied if they’re not. And they don’t have a compelling vision of a better state that they want to bring to life. Whether they are moving away from something identifiable and negative or towards something identifiable and positive, you need dissatisfaction because you need a compelling reason your dream client will change. Without it, you have no deal.QuestionsCan you define the dissatisfaction in every opportunity in your pipeline? Can you define what the dissatisfaction should be in the “opportunities” where you can’t define the dissatisfaction? What do you do when you can’t find pain? How do you elicit your dream client’s desired future state when it’s positive, not an identifiable, negative pain?
With Assembly polls just a few months away, the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government in Madhya Pradesh has roped in a private talent management company to shore up job prospects and impart necessary skills to youths. The Opposition Congress has, however, dubbed the move as an “eyewash” aimed at “misleading” youths in the time of elections which are due by the year-end. Madhya Pradesh has created an average of 17,600 jobs every year in the past 13 years of the BJP rule (2004-2017), according to an official data presented in the Assembly during the budget session. Now, a private player has been entrusted with the task of scouting employment opportunities in the non-government sector and enhancing job-getting skills of the state’s unemployed. Speaking to PTI, Madhya Pradesh State Skill Development and Employment Generation Board chairman Hemant Vijayrao Deshmukh said, “In a bid to generate more jobs for youths, the state government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Pune-based Yashasvi Academy for Talent Management Pvt Ltd.“This company would turn the employment exchanges in 15 districts into placement centres under the public-private partnership (PPP) mode.” The MoU will cover 15 districts – Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Rewa, Gwalior, Sagar, Ujjain, Hoshangabad, Shahdol, Dhar, Khargone, Dewas, Singrauli, Satna and Katni. The Congress, however, said this step of the BJP government would benefit only the private company. The Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ajay Singh of the Congress said, “Why has the BJP government woke up after 14 years? It is just trying to mislead youths. In any case, the BJP is going to be defeated in the coming elections.“In the recent budget session, the government admitted that unemployment has gone up by 16.4 %.” Singh said the BJP government has failed to deliver on the employment front.“Where are two crore jobs that the BJP had promised.Youths are under depression due to lack of jobs.” Deshmukh, however, believes the MoU with the Pune firm would definitely benefit the state’s unemployed youths. He said, “We have set a target of facilitating jobs for one lakh youths. Apart from making job opportunities available in the private sector, the company would also impart skills in writing curriculum vitae (CV) besides working for personality development of unemployed youths.” The agreement would boost the job sector as employment exchanges were fast losing their relevance, the board chairman said. Apart from preparing unemployed persons as per market demand, job fairs and career counselling sessions will be organised by the company, Deshmukh said. Jobs will be made available to applicants in their respective area of interest, he said. Deshmukh said Yashasvi Academy would manage the cost of running placement centres in coordination with companies which would provide jobs. The Berojgar Sena, an outfit of unemployed youths, however, is not enthused by the move. Instead of improving employment exchanges, the government has been making efforts to shut them down, it said.“According to private estimates, there are over 75 lakh unemployed youths in the state and through this PPP agreement, the government plans to provide jobs to one lakh youths.“So, it will take 75 years to provide jobs to the current number of the unemployed,” said Sena convener Akshay Hunka. More than five lakh unemployed youths are getting added every year, he said.“This MoU was signed only to mislead youths ahead of the Assembly elections. The state government has completely failed on the employment front,” Hunka maintained. The Economic Survey-2018, presented during the budget session, said the number of registered educated unemployed in MP stood at 11.24 lakh by 2016-end.

Furthermore, as you’ll see below, the conference now has the three top spots in ESPN’s FPI. Baylor, TCU and Oklahoma are 1-2-3. Ohio State is the highest-ranked non-Big 12 school, at No. 4. Oklahoma State is No. 14.Here’s a reminder of what the FPI measures. The Football Power Index (FPI) is a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team’s performance going forward for the rest of the season. FPI represents how many points above or below average a team is. Projected results are based on 10,000 simulations of the rest of the season using FPI, results to date, and the remaining schedule. Ratings and projections update daily.Alabama is currently the top-ranked SEC squad. USC, at 5-3, is the highest Pac-12 team, at No. 5. Clemson, the ACC’s top dog, is No. 7.What do you think, college football fans? How accurate is this tool?
