‘Expect to Connect’ this October as Wainfest, the annual Children’s Arts and Book Festival, makes its highly anticipated return. The festival, organised by Donegal County Council’s Culture Division, is one of the country’s leading children’s festivals. This year, the week-long festival will run from October 5th – 13th 2019.Children and their families are invited to join in on the fun and enjoy top quality events on their doorstep such as magic, high energy story-telling, and visits from best-selling children’s authors. Last year over 11,000 attendees joined us on Wainfest’s ‘wild and wondrous’ adventure. 150 events in total were held in 38 different locations, including libraries, Taobh Tíre centres, Donegal County Musuem, the Regional Cultural Centre, cinemas and partner locations. With plans for this year’s festival shaping up to be bigger and better than ever, 2019 will undoubtedly exceed last year’s attendee numbers.Can you dig it? Chelsea’s interim boss Roberto Di Matteo said he was “excited” by the prospect of a Champions League semi-final showdown with Barcelona.His team struggled to overcome 10-man Benfica but Di Matteo insisted he expected the Portuguese side to put up a real fight.“We knew before that we would face a difficult game and so it proved,” he told ITV.“They (Benfica) are a good side. Datia district health officials are on high alert after the death of a 52-year-old man due to persistent fever, and increase in fever cases in both government and private hospitals.According to an official, Imat Singh, a patient with high fever for the last five days, was admitted at the Datia District hospital on Monday morning. “On his arrival, the patient was administered an injection to bring his fever under control. In the evening, another injection was given to him. However, this time the patient collapsed,” Pradeep Upadhyay, Chief Medical and Health Officer, Datia district told The Hindu over telephone.The news of death of Imat Singh, a cousin of district Congress vice-president Sarnam Singh Rajput, spread like wildfire, said an official.In the meantime, the family members of the deceased alleged that he died due to administration of wrong injection. A few other patients undergoing treatment with symptoms of high fever and headache in the hospital panicked and fled, said Dr. Upadhyay.He said the condition of nine other patients with similar symptoms is under control. The CMHO has also dismissed allegations of wrong treatment. Dr. Upadhyay also denied media reports suggesting use of a single syringe to treat 25 patients by the hospital staff.
