Exeter JCR motion to ban kissing

first_imgAmorous students found themselves under threat at Exeter this week when a motion proposed at a JCR meeting on Sunday recommended that kissing be banned in the JCR.Welfare Officer Beccy Taylor suggested that demonstrations of affection were isolating for singletons and provoked feelings of loneliness. The change was rejected on the basis that it would trivialize the constitution.An Exeter student who attended the meeting commented, “I thought the motion was amusing but I don’t think embittered singletons should take their anger out on us JCR members in happy relationships.”last_img
