Free.Get all the latest Pasadena news, more than 10 fresh stories daily, 7 days a week at 7 a.m. A bear was spotted in La Canada-Flintridge this afternoon, prompting authorities to put a nearby elementary school on lockdown.A deputy darted the bear with a tranquilizer near Crown Avenue and Baptiste Way about 3 p.m.About an hour later, deputies confirmed the bear was unconscious while they were awaiting state Fish and Game rangers to pick up the California black bear and take him back into the wild.The bear was first seen in a tree today, but then started slowing moving through backyards, jumping fences between properties, the Sheriff’s Department said.Three people who were taking a dip in a swimming pool got a scare when the bear came bounding across a fence. They quickly ran inside to safety. Paradise Canyon Elementary School was temporarily placed on lockdown.
