State police investigate shooting in Newfield

New York State Police in Ithaca responded to a report of shots fired and found that a man was transported to Cayuga Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound in his back. He was later transferred to Upstate University Hospital. His injuries were non-life threatening, according to police.Police are looking for a dark-colored SUV that was seen traveling south on Shaffer Road just after the shooting.
